Being in the fashion industry really speeds everything up. Mentally my cohorts and I are at the end of 2016-communicating to factories to get samples done. The rest of the population is just trying to get a taste of that seasonal Pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks. You know, simple shit.
Well, the show must go on as per usual. And Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2016 collection did just that. Ever wondered what it would look like to bring Paris to Rome? Me neither, but Karl and his team did and decided to make it a reality. What we get is a sartorial world filled with fairiyls, patterned stockings, and men donning the “Classic Suit” over matching slacks. Revolutionary.
Karl’s girl continues to be the cool Parisian with a taste for badass. Some of the models donned leather jackets draped effortlessly on their shoulders over their heavily embellished dresses. The resurrection of fetish-friendly black PVC also made an appearance in the outerwear and skirts. Every look was anchored with the house’s traditional reworked cap toe heel and a tweed and leather hiking boot. Out!
We couldn’t make it to the show, but Vogue obviously did so take a look at some of our favorite looks from the show below.
